Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre even in tight areas.
For an easy ride, opt for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Be prepared with an repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, the symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, and are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking fashionable.

The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with bumpy ground and rough pavements. With larger wheels front and back also makes it much easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with an infant and a 3-year-old child and found it very sturdy. It handled cobbles, grass, and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push and extremely solid on rough terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need periodic pumping) come with suspension built-in which was extremely comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to consider is the size and shape. It should be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only allow a parent-facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road or walking in muddy areas. The buggy can be used as a single from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers until age 4 and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness and large cushioned seat. Storage options are also great with a large storage basket with zip pockets on the hood, and an attractive pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability when driving over rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies that are off-road. They also make it easier to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with the front wheels that swivel to aid you in maneuvering around tight corners, whereas others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This can also help in the event that you hit a tree root or stray curb, since the front wheel can be lifted up slightly to prevent you from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres that allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures, so you'll need to have an repair kit, spare inner tube and pump in your bag.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are among our top 3-wheelers. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily move up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system which according to her "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".
Buggies with larger wheels can be quite wide and may struggle to fit in tight spaces. 3 wheeler pushchair is a problem especially if you're using it to a jogger or you need to to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. Fortunately, many models come with compact folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to create more compact storage.
Easy to maneuver
One of the primary benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver especially with a child in the back. They are designed so that the front wheels can rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for challenging terrain such as cobblestones, parks, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her infant and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground and the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also amazed by how well it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it to be extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven ground."
The only downside of this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces, something to consider especially if you live in a urban region. If this is the case then a 4-wheeled buggy could be the better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars can shield your child from scrapes and bumps when out and out and about. They are simple and quick to put in and will make your child feel safe and secure whilst out on the town or tackling tough terrain.
Created to match the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar is an upholstered and soft surface that offers a comfortable place for your child to hang on to while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design ensure that your child will enjoy a stroll without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far forward.
The sling seat made of fabric sits snug inside the frame as opposed to on top of it like modular seats. It provides the lowest center of gravity at the right height for your newborn and also delivering excellent weight distribution for easy kerb pop (it takes less effort to push a buggy up and over a curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath found it coped really well with cobbles and grass and is a great choice for jogging thanks to its lockable swivel wheel on the front and air-filled tyres.
With a sophisticated and stylish look, this bumper bar will surely attract attention wherever you go. Available in a range of finishes and colors and designs, it can be tailored to match your style. It comes with a simple quick-release mechanism that makes it easy to remove and install the bumper bar when needed. Moreover the bumper bar is easy to clean and is made from durable materials that are easy to wipe down. This makes it a great choice for families who want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy offers the most maneuverability and performance when going off road. This kind of buggy is easy to steer and turn at a moment's notice due to its perfect geometry engineering, weight, and distribution.
The clever design of the Sport places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, instead of over it like modular seats. This means it has lower center of gravity and makes it more comfortable to push, has a lighter curb-pop (you don't have to put in the same effort to raise the buggy's front end over a curb) and provides greater stability and balance. With 16" rear wheels, the lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled which allow for a more smooth, comfortable jogging.
As the only all-terrain pushchair in our collection with a parent-facing seat that can also be used as a car seat or carrycot to ensure the future of your family and have fun on every moment of your day and into the future in the footprint of a single buggy!
Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also adored the space of the buggy. There's a huge, easily accessible basket that's huge for such a small buggy and there's an easy-to-use pouch that zips up at the back of the seat unit, and even two smaller mesh pockets in the hood to keep your phone and keys.
